AJB partners with PayPal for retail payment processing

BBR Staff Writer Published 17 January 2012

US-based payment solutions provider AJB Software Design has teamed with PayPal for retail payment processing.

The companies will combinedly offer point of sale (POS) application programming interfaces (APIs) that will allow AJB's retail customers to offer PayPal as an in-store payment option for shoppers.

A POS based environment will enable customers with access to multiple payment sources and coupons within the PayPal wallet.

AJB's retail transaction switch will offer the framework to allow various PayPal account numbers to be processed as financial tender by existing and future customers of AJB.

PayPal members can pay for merchandise by either swiping a PayPal payment card or by entering the mobile telephone number and PIN associated with their accounts.

AJB will build a native PayPal interface within its integrated payment solutions platform which can then be accessed by its retail customer base.

By offering PayPal within the AJB product suite, retailers can integrate PayPal payments into 250,000 POS terminals in their stores.

The companies noted that their collaboration will simplify the PayPal/POS integration by using a well-defined set of API's that POS software providers have already integrated.

AJB said the service will also help it speed up PayPal payments to market for retailers, by already developing, testing and validating the PayPal interface within its product suite.
