SECB appoints Earthport to provide cross-border payment services

SECB Swiss Euro Clearing Bank (SECB) has appointed cross-border transactions payment network Earthport, UK, to provide SWIFT payment processing services to SECB customers.

The SECB, which has its headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, processes euro transactions for banks and other businesses domiciled in Switzerland.

The contract with Earthport will facilitate SECB to increase its cross-border payment capabilities and payment processing efficiency.

The contract will enable clients to seamlessly manage payments to almost any bank account in the world.

SECB Swiss Euro Clearing Bank CEO Roland Böff said: “SECB has always been highly committed to providing its clients with secure and efficient payment services in euros on a global basis. The arrangement with Earthport will help us to further strengthen our service offering for our customers.”

Earthport CEO Hank Uberoi said: “We are delighted that SECB has selected Earthport to support its cross-border payment business.”

“We are committed to developing our presence in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, and to bringing the efficiency, security and transparency of the Earthport payment network to businesses in the region. We look forward to partnering with SECB to provide improved payment capabilities to its clients,” added Uberoi.

With this contract, SECB has become Earthport’s first client in Germany.

Earthport offers global payment capability to clients in more than 190 countries and territories, with local Automated Clearing House (ACH) options in over 65 countries and a suite of currencies and settlement options.

SECB Swiss Euro Clearing Bank processes euro payment traffic and related customer services, and cash and collateral management.

The bank also provides connection to euro clearing systems and the processing of payment traffic in euro on a global basis.
